Lakshmi Sreeram (nee Ramakrishnan) is one of the few classical vocalists in India who performs both Hindustani Khayal music and Carnatic music.
Lakshmi, now based in Chennai, has trained under eminent gurus in Mumbai and Chennai.
She took her Ph.D from the University of Bombay in 1995. She is an occasional writer in leading magazines and papers on music matters. Her training in Bharatanatyam lends another dimension to her music and personality.
