  • Lakshmi Sreeram (Ramakrishnan) is an Indian Classical Vocalist in both Carnatic and Hindustani traditions.
  • She has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Mumbai.
  • She continues to pursue independent research and scholarly work.
  • She has been Guest Faculty at the prestigious IIT Madras.
  • She has put together a successful online course on Carnatic Music for the National Project for Technology Enhanced Learning, NPTEL under their MOOC program – Massive Open Online Course.
  • She is a freelance writer, contributing articles on matters cultural to Firstpost regularly and also for The Hindu, and Sruti.
  • Lakshmi trained for many years in the dance form of Bharatanatyam. Though not actively engaged in dancing for many years now, her training in and love for dance lend a subtle dimension to her music and personality.
  • She has been awarded a Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship, 2019-2020.
