Lakshmi Sreeram (Ramakrishnan) is an Indian Classical Vocalist in both Carnatic and Hindustani traditions.She has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Mumbai.She continues to pursue independent research and scholarly work. She has been Guest Faculty at the prestigious IIT Madras.She has put together a successful online course on Carnatic Music for the National Project for Technology Enhanced Learning, NPTEL under their MOOC program – Massive Open Online Course.She is a freelance writer, contributing articles on matters cultural to Firstpost regularly and also for The Hindu, and Sruti.Lakshmi trained for many years in the dance form of Bharatanatyam. Though not actively engaged in dancing for many years now, her training in and love for dance lend a subtle dimension to her music and personality.She has been awarded a Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship, 2019-2020.
